The ONE plant you need in your garden in June…

June is when the garden starts really earning its keep, so this month’s pick had to be a proper overachiever… one that flowers for ages, fills awkward gaps and asks for absolutely nothing in return. Enter Hardy Geraniums 🌸

Also known as Cranesbill, these are hands down one of the hardest-working plants you can grow. Cottage Garden Queen Margery Fish 👑 said “if in doubt, plant a geranium” and this is why she was absolutely right…

✅ Flowers for AGES - late spring, all summer and often well into autumn too
✅ There’s one for every spot - sun, part shade, dry shade, front of border, spilling through a border… you name it
✅ Amazing ground cover - softens edges, fills gaps and helps keep weeds in check
✅ Some evergreen varieties available, giving you year-round interest
✅ Tough as old boots and ridiculously easy to grow - a proper low effort, high reward plant
✅ Pretty flowers AND gorgeous foliage, so they earn their keep even when they’re not in full bloom
✅ Pollinators love them, so they’re not just pretty, they’re useful too 🐝
✅ Give them a chop after the first flush and many will come back with fresh foliage and more flowers ✂️
✅ Easy to divide too, which means more plants for free 🙌
